The International Policy and Research Conference will gather over 250 researchers, experts and administrators from all regions, in Luxembourg, 29 September to 1 October 2010. The conference is organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and hosted by the Association of Social Security Institutions of Luxembourg.
"The recent financial and economic crisis has had a far-reaching impact, and has added new pressures on social security systems. The crisis has also confirmed the risk of social instability and an evolution of the values underpinning solidarity and social cohesion," according to Hans-Horst Konkolewsky, the ISSA Secretary General.
"The conference will provide an opportunity for forward-looking reflection on key trends that need to be considered by policy-makers and administrators, and will analyse how social security can adapt to this increasingly unstable world," he said.
