The International Social Security Association (ISSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH). The agreement aims to reinforce collaboration between the two organizations to promote and develop occupational health, safety and social protection in work life.

The Memorandum, that was signed in Seoul on 30 June 2008 during the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, will strengthen joint efforts of the two organizations in the fields of occupational health, medicine, safety and related issues.

"Prevention is a core component of dynamic social security," said the ISSA Secretary General Hans-Horst Konkolewsky. "The Seoul Declaration points towards greater collaboration among international organizations in the field of occupational safety and health, and this agreement will allow us to deepen our partnership and benefit from the expertise of the ICOH."

The Memorandum was co-signed by Dr. Jorma Rantanen, President of the ICOH, and the ISSA Secretary General.
