A new maternity allowance has been introduced in Australia. The payment is intended to assist families with the extra costs incurred at the time of the birth of a new baby (including forgone income from the mother leaving the workforce around the time of the birth).

Students able to receive sickness allowance
Since January 1995, students in receipt of the income tested education assistance schemes AUSTUDY and ABSTUDY can qualify for sickness allowance if they have a temporary incapacity and are unable to study.

Raising of pensionable age
In 1993, the Hungarian Parliament enacted the gradual increase of pensionable age for women from 55 to 60. The pensionable age is to rise gradually by one year every 2 years from January 1995 until it reaches 60 years in 2003.
