Ergonomic work design for old and young workersIn Germany (like in other major industrialized countries), the phenomenon of ageing workforce is getting more and more apparent. One relevant way for companies to face challenges posed by demographic change to the world of work is the implementation of ergonomic workplaces.
Together with the German accident insurances in industry, the Institute for Occupational Health and Safety of the German Social Accident Insurance (Institut für Arbeitsschutz der Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung (IFA)) has developed a concept for ergonomic work design for young and older workers. The concept can be applied in various workplaces and presents innovative features that enable suitable prevention against work-related sicknesses.
