Risks in Modern Society
Publication of the International Section of the ISSA on Machine and System Safety

The International Section of the ISSA on Machine and System Safety has worked for some time on the subject “future – work – prevention – what can risk management and risk governance contribute?” The results of the project were published in 2008 in the book “ Risks in Modern Society” (Springer Science + Business Media).

The book shall be presented 10 December, 2009, in Brussels in representation of the state of Baden-Württemberg (presentation 6.00 p.m. – 7.30 p.m., afterwards reception). Patron is Prof. Peter Frankenberg, Minister for Science and Research of the Province of Baden-Württemberg who shall be personally present. The presentation shall in particular deal with the importance of risk management and risk governance for industry and economy, politics, insurance and the question: Why is it useful to focus on occupational safety and health?
