How to meet the needs arising from sociological changes in the family? The adaptation of family policies to changes in the family throughout the world

The family is being shaken by deep-rooted structural, demographic, sociological and economic changes all over the world, even in widely different cultural contexts. Family policies and social protection systems in particular have had to adapt and have managed to do so, becoming as a result:

  • a little more "open" to new family structures;
  • more neutral in their attitudes towards the changing status of women; and
  • more redistributive to fight poverty among families and children.
