Payment of partial injury allowance

A reduced or partial injury allowance can now be paid to an employee or self-employed person who has reduced his or her working time due to to work injury. The allowance is calculated on the number of hours of incapacity as authorized by a physician. A reduced injury allowance cannot be paid for more than 26 weeks.

Previous to the change, reduced injury allowance could be paid to the self-employed only and only on condition that working hours were reduced by at least 4 hours. These restrictions have now been repealed.
