Regulatory Framework
1995: Law No. 16713; reforms the social security system, creates a mixed system of old-age protection consisting of a publicly-managed social security scheme and a mandatory private pension scheme, and regulates the establishment and operation of Pension Fund Administrators (Administradoras de Fondos de Ahorro Previsional - AFAP).
