The Seminar was held in collaboration with the General Pension and Social Security Authority of the United Arab Emirates and the Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund, with the support of the ISSA Liaison Office for Arab Countries.

The objective of the International Seminar was to analyse and review proactive and preventive social security policies and practices that help ISSA member institutions to address the challenges of sustainability. The International Seminar also provided social security institutions with good practices and national experiences to anticipate risks and act in a proactive and preventive manner.

The Seminar sessions focused on the following topics:

• The update of the ISSA Guidelines for the Investment of Social Security Funds;
• Introducing flexible approaches for retirement; and
• Asset and Liability Management of pension schemes as a proactive and preventive tool.
