6th International Film and Multimedia Festival
ISSA, 18.09.2005 - 20.06.2005 | Orlando, USA.
As an integral part of the XVIIth World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in 2005 in Orlando, USA, this festival was organized by the Section for Electricity, Gas and Water and the Section on Information for Prevention.

The Multimedia Festival attracted 57 multimedia products from 18 countries worldwide. The conference delegates were invited to assess the products in the multimedia corner, while the applicants could present their products in the Multimedia Presentation Room.

An international jury from 6 different countries evaluated the products taking into account the following criteria:

  • the optimal use of multimedia technology,
  • the relevance to the needs of the target group,
  • the ergonomics of the man-machine interface,
  • the overall impression.

The jury evaluated different kinds of multimedia products such as computer based training programs, web based training programs and portal sites. Products addressed various topics and target groups such as sme’s, young workers and different sectors and professions.

The jury was particularly pleased with the high quality of the applications and had a difficult job in selecting the award winners.  A consensus was reached on the following applications:

Two Winners in the category Computer Based Training:

Small business WorkSafe Safety Calculator , Worker’s Compensation Board of British Columbia, Canada.
