Sharing Vision / Sharing Knowledge: Sixth biennial conference of the International Mines Rescue Body (IMRB)
Nine Canadian provinces and three territories have mine rescue programs that thrive on an extraordinary commitment from miners and mine operators. They and their mine rescue partners are eager to greet mine rescuers from other nations who share the vision of safer mining and are willing to share knowledge and expertise on mine rescue.
Previous IMRB conferences around the world have discussed breathing apparatus, emergency preparedness, heat stress, training methods, legislation affecting mine rescue, specific mine emergencies, as well as differing national approaches to mine rescue, and more.
A call for papers for IMRB 2013 with its motto "Sharing Vision / Sharing Knowledge"
will be issued in 2012 and a similar range of topics and issues will be addressed during the conference in Niagara Falls, one of Canada’s premier tourist attractions. As well, the event will include field visits to and tours of major Canadian mining operations.
