San José Mine, Chile: 33 Miners Rescued 70 Days After Collapse

With great pleasure we have just learned that all 33 miners have been retrieved from the San José Mine near Copiapó, Chile, which collapsed 5 August 2010.

ISSA Mining extends greatest respect for the efficient and tireless rescue operations and congratulates everybody involved at Camp Esperanza as well as all throughout the world. This rescue operation has been a milestone in mining history.

Our greatest respect and appreciation goes out to the 33 miners who have been showing outstanding courage, skill, discipline, and team spirit.
