During the World Congress, the ISSA Chemistry Section will organize a symposium that will provide a platform for the exchange of information and experience among international experts in occupational safety and health.
The symposium will provide an overview of the global aspects of nanotechnology and its consequences for human health. Speakers from Europe, the United States and the United Nations will elucidate technical as well as political aspects of this interesting and challenging contemporary issue, and offer a specialized forum to discuss recent developments and future perspectives.
The participants will learn a strategy to identify effective exposure controls being confronted with nanomaterials at the workplace. Nevertheless it will also be of value for professionals who have already made experiences in this area. It will provide assistance for solving safety problems of the production of nanomaterials as well as in the down-stream usage. Researchers will be given hints how to work safely with nanomaterials in laboratories. It is not intended to discuss the findings of fundamental research in depth but to consolidate the results to give the newcomer the basic knowledge to be able to cope with upcoming problems.
